Find the Optimal Strategy for Roulette
If you have read through the Roulette Odds section, you already know the probability of each bet actually winning. Well, the other thing you have to take into consideration when developing a strategy are the payouts. Let me help you a bit with that: No matter what you bet on, the casino will always have the same edge.
When you play European roulette, the casino will always have an edge of 2.63%, no matter what kind of crazy bet you place.
When you play American roulette, the casino will always have an edge twice that of the European roulette table (.5.26%) because that table has 2 numbers that let the casino win all the time, instead of just the one that European roulette tables have.
Therefore, don't try to experiment with placing different bets in your pursuit of beating the casino. All you have to do to minimize the edge of the casino is to play on a European roulette table. How do you know that you're playing on a European roulette table? There will be no 00 present on a European roulette table.
Also, because the edge of the casino doesn't change depending on the bet you place, there is also no way for you to improve your chances of winning. Therefore, there is NO way that you can systematically beat the casino in the long run. Anything can happen in the short run (which is why it's called gambling), but in the long run, the casino will always win. So, if anybody ever tries to sell you a "roulette system", they are out to get you and rob you of your money. There is absolutely no system available anywhere that will let you win money consistently when playing roulette.
I do wish you good luck on the tables though and enjoy yourself!
